Mary Cecelia Sagel of Cuba, Missouri was born Thursday, December 1, 1927 at New York to the union of James and Ida Birmingham and left from this life on Wednesday July 2, 2014 at Rolla, Missouri at the age of 86 years. Mary was united in marriage to Timothy Benjamin Sagel in 1945 at Campbell, Missouri and to this union eleven children were born. Mary retired from Brown Shoe Company in 1992 after 24 years of dedicated service. Mary was a devout member of Holy Cross Catholic Church for sixty five years. In her spare time of raising eleven children she enjoyed embroidering. What was most important to Mary was spending time with her family and friends. Mary was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend of many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Mary is preceded in death by her parents James and Ida Birmingham, husband Timothy Sagel, three sons; Phillip, Thomas and Bernard Sagel, two grandchildren, siblings and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving children Margaret Hoke, Teresa Depauw, Elizabeth Garner, Albert Sagel, Steven Sagel, Paul Sagel, Alice Rodriguez and Edward Sagel, seventeen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren, one great-great grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Monday, July 7, 2014 from 5:00 till 8:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington, Cuba, Missouri. Celebration of Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 103 E Jefferson Avenue, Owensville, Missouri with Father James Finder as Celebrant. Interment and prayers will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Sagel family.
