Mary K. "Kitty" Buettner

Mary K. “Kitty” Buettner of Cuba, Missouri was born on Sunday, August 26, 1939, in St. Louis to Arnold and Ella “Linnie” (Hackney) Parrott. She left this life on Monday, September 25, 2023, at Steelville Living Center in Steelville at the age of 84.

Mary Parrott was united in marriage to Larry R. Buettner on March 1, 1958, in Ferguson, Missouri. To this union four children were born Linda Faye, Larry, Jr., Karen and Rebecca.

Mary was a clerk at Maces Supermarket and later at Wal-Mart. She was a very giving person and she enjoyed being a Pastors wife and being by her husbands’ side, during his ministry at Faith Chapel in Cuba. She enjoyed singing, going on outings, garage sales, thrifting, match making and spending time with her family.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Ella “Linnie” (Hackney) Parrott; husband Larry R. Buettner, Sr. two daughters Karen Knight and Rebecca Buettner; two grandchildren Shawn Pitts and April Knight; one brother Ted Parrott; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law David and wife Kathy Buettner, Caroline and husband Barrett Houseman.

Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her two children Linda Faye and husband Allen Pitts of Steelville, Larry, Jr. and wife Rev. Darla Buettner of Steelville; four grandchildren Amber Furr of Jefferson City, Heather and husband Mike Riley of Steelville, Nick Buettner of Steelville, Dawn Hayes of St. Louis; thirteen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.  

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Darla Buettner, officiating.

Interment will follow at Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
