Mary Ann Townley

Mary Ann Townley of Cuba, Missouri was born Friday, July 20, 1923 at Salem, Missouri to the union of Silas A. and Mary Ellen (nee: Massie) Phillips and left from this life on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Cuba Manor at the age of 88 years. Mary Ann was united in marriage to James H. "Bud" Townley in 1962 at Los Angeles, California. Bud preceded her in death in 1989. Mary Ann spent her life taking care of her home; shopping and she always loved having her dogs with her. She enjoyed dancing to Big Band music and collecting rocks from her and Bud's trips in their motor home. Mary Ann was a loving daughter, sister, sister-in-law, wife, aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt, cousin and friend. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents Silas and Mary Ellen Phillips, her husband, five brothers Hadley, Dale, Chester, Marvin and George Phillips, two sisters Lois Phillips and Arlene Sparks and many other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her two brothers Silas A. "Bob" Phillips of Springfield, Missouri and William D. "Bill" Phillips of St. Peters, Missouri, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 10:00 AM until time of Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington, Cuba, Missouri. Inurnment and prayers will follow at 3:00 PM Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Salem, Missouri. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association http://www.alz.org/join_the_cause_donate.asp in Mary Ann's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to serve Mary Ann's family.
