Mary Ann J. Brand, a cherished resident of Cuba, Missouri, was born on March 18, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Stanley and Mary (Liszewski) Dabrowski. She gracefully departed this life on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Cuba Manor, at the age of 82, leaving behind a legacy filled with love and kindness.

On April 11, 1959, Mary Ann united in marriage with James F. Brand in St. Louis, a partnership blessed with four beloved children: James Jr., Gerald, Jeff, and Jeania. Throughout her life, Mary Ann devoted herself to nurturing her family and community. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide and Social Worker at Briarwood and Cuba Manor, making a meaningful impact in the lives of those she cared for, until her retirement in 1984.

A devoted parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mary Ann found joy in her faith and actively participated in her church community. Her passions extended to the arts, where she reveled in painting and ceramics, as well as tending to her beloved flowers. She had an enthusiastic spirit for attending auctions and enjoyed countless moments surrounded by family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Mary Ann is lovingly remembered for her warm heart and strong spirit. She is preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Mary (Liszewski) Dabrowski; her husband, James F. Brand; and her dear daughter, Jeania Brand.

Her legacy continues through her three devoted sons: James F. Brand Jr. of Cuba, Gerald (Julie) Brand of Cuba, and Jeff (Kimberly) Brand of Sullivan. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Steven, Mikel, Ian, Adam, and Danielle Brand, Justin Quisenberry and wife Samantha, and Heather, along with her husband, Andrew Jay Wilkinson. Additionally, she leaves behind six great-grandchildren: Scarlett, Vincent, Brody, Leana, Liam, and Kenlea, as well as a loving brother-in-law, Richard (Judy) Brand of Nixa, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and countless friends whose lives she touched.

Visitation in honor of Mary Ann will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home, located at 904 W. Washington St., Cuba, Missouri. This will continue on Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church.

The Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, where Father Patrick Dolan will celebrate her life. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Cuba, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 415 W. School Ave., Cuba, Missouri 65453.
