Martha L. Peterson of New Haven, Missouri formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born on January 7, 1926 in Emory, Texas and left from this life on Friday, December 3, 2010 in New Haven, Missouri at the age of 84. Martha was united in marriage to Johnnie Peterson on June 9, 1942 in San Francisco, California. Martha was a homemaker and was a member of the Cuba Free Will Baptist Church. The most important thing to her was taking care of her family especially her children and grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting and gardening. Martha is preceded in death by her mother Josephine Leota (Settle) Frick; husband Johnnie Peterson; two sons Donald and John Peterson; one brother Sonny Frick and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her six children Thomas and wife Lynelle Peterson of Cordova, Tennessee, Mike and wife Donna Peterson of Hermann, Missouri, Terry and husband Jerry Leslie of Washington, Missouri, Scott Peterson of Hermann, Missouri, Susan and husband Marc LaBeau of St. Louis, Missouri, Melissa Badgett and friend Greg Geno of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter-in-law Nancy Peterson of Denham Springs, Louisiana; one sister Sue Colonna of Katy, Texas; four sisters-in-law Margie Lynch of Arnold, Missouri, Imogene and husband Ellis Risenhoover of Noble, Oklahoma, Betty Lou and husband Dale Hockett of Norman, Oklahoma, Mary and husband Don Hoffman of St. Louis, Oklahoma; special friends Helen Brown of Cuba, Missouri, Lucille Hawn of Salem, Missouri, Pastor Don Martin and church family at the Cuba Free Will Baptist Church; twenty nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 5-8 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 10:00 a.m. at the Cuba Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Don Martin, officiating. Interment will follow at Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the Cuba Free Will Baptist Church 707 Myrtle Cuba, Missouri 65453.
