Marie Alice Blackwell

Marie Alice Blackwell of Cuba, Missouri was born on Thursday, September 25, 1919 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Edward and Alice (nee: Kohl) Tayoan and left from this life on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 90 years 3 months and 29 days. Marie was united in marriage to Joseph Blackwell and to this union four children were born; Joseph, Judith, Barbara and Becky. Marie spent her life taking care of her family. She enjoyed working in the yard, taking care of her flowers, fishing and spending time with her sisters, children, grandchildren, great granddaughter and other family. She was a long time member of the All Souls Catholic Church in St. Louis. Marie was a loving daughter, sister, sister-in-law, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Marie is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Blackwell, two grandchildren Gina Marie Russo and Eric J. Blackwell, sister Violet Marzden, brother Johnny Tayoan and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her children Joseph Blackwell of Cuba, Judith and husband Theo Sims of Overland, Missouri, Barbara and husband Bobbie Campbell of Cuba and Becky White of the state of Florida, five grandchildren Lisa White, Brian, Sean and Licia & Jessica Grayton, one great granddaughter Gina Russo, two sisters Rosie Spindler of Fenton and Loretta Van Fleet of St. Louis, one brother Eddie Tayoan of St. Louis, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 10 am till 12 noon at the Britton Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Special music will be 郢邀邜On Eagles Wings郢邀邝, 郢邀邜How Great Thou Art郢邀邝 and 郢邀邜The Old Rugged Cross郢邀邝. Family members will be honored to serve as casket bearers. Interment will follow at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks, Missouri. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Blackwell family.
