Madeline G. "Mackie" Stevson (nee: Gibson) of Overland Park, Kansas formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Preston A. and Virginia S. (Nichols) Gibson on March 19, 1928 in Steelville, Missouri and left from this life on Thursday, December 25, 2008 in Overland Park, Kansas at the age of 80 years 9 months and 6 days. Mackie retired from McDonnell Douglas as Administrative Assistant. She was a member of Cuba United Methodist Church and was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family and friends. Mackie is preceded in death by her parents Preston Alexander and Virginia Sarah (Nichols) Gibson; husband Billie Louis Stevson; one brother Preston A. "Bud" Gibson, Jr. two sisters Geraldine Smith and Virginia Mae Schlemmer; step-grandson Gary Stevson and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to cherish her memory and to continue her legacy are her son James Coleman of New York, New York; one daughter Toni Coleman-Strutz of Overland Park, Kansas; two step-sons William and wife Diane Stevson of Macks Creek, Missouri, Robert and wife Gloria Stevson of Goodfield, Illinois; two grandchildren Alexander Strutz and Erica Strutz-Pucket; two step-grandchildren Clinton Wallace and Mark Stevson; one great-granddaughter Madalyn Pucket; one step-great-grandson Robert Gary Stevson; nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. In celebration of her life a memorial service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2009 11:00 a.m. at Cuba United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Lathum, officiating. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Stevson family.
