Mary Evelyn Dickens of Cuba, Missouri was born on Thursday, December 9, 1920 at Rector, Arkansas to the union of Samuel Arthur and Virginia E. (nee: Reynolds) Quick and left from this life on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 88 years 11 months and 30 days. Evelyn was united in marriage to Lonnie W. Dickens on October 31, 1954 at St. Louis, Missouri and to this union one son, Lonnie, was born. Evelyn worked at various places in her life time, but she spent the majority of her time taking care of her family and home. She enjoyed the simply things in life, her family and quiet times. Evelyn was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt, cousin and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband Lonnie Dickens, Sr., parents Samuel and Virginia Quick, four brothers Paul, Keith, Dale and Jessie Quick, three sisters Virginia é¢ééVinnieé¢éé Blake, Lucile Robinson and Aline Hynds and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy is her loving son Lonnie and wife Tina Dickens of Cuba, two grandchildren J.R. and Rebecca Dickens of Cuba, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews and friends. Services and burial were private at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks, Missouri. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Dickens family.
