Lula Virginia Adair of Cuba, Missouri was born Sunday, July 8, 1928 at Marianna, Arkansas to the union of Charles Mitchell Holt and Nellie Mae (nee: Hendrix) Holt and left from this life on Friday, May 22, 2009 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 80 years 10 months and 14 days. Lula was the loving mother of nine children Kenneth, John, Mary, Jimmy, Joe, Margaret, Shirley, Billy and William. Lula spent her life taking care of her children and family. In her younger years she worked at the Midway Caf郃邩 were she was the dishwasher and cook. She truly enjoyed cooking and was excellent at it. She always enjoyed listening to Gospel music, watching the Andy Griffin Show, growing her tomatoes, but what she enjoyed and loved most was her family and spending time with them. Lula was united in marriage on September 17, 1970 to Wilbert Adair and they have spent the last 39 years enjoying life and being with family. Lula was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-inlaw, sister-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Lula is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Nellie Mae Holt, two sons Billy Ray and Kenneth A. Harrison, one daughter Margaret Highfill, one sister Vennie Cooney, three brothers Clarence, Dickey and Kenneth Holt, two brother-in-laws Glenn Charles Adair and Russell Bouse and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy is her loving husband Wilbert Adair of Cuba, six children John and wife Marsha Harrison of Bourbon, Mary Harrison of St. James, Jimmy and wife Josie Harrison of Cuba, Joe and wife Bobby Harrison of Saginaw, Michigan, Shirley and husband Casper Werdenhausen of Bland and William and wife Chiquita Harrison of Rolla, seventeen grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren and one great-great grandson, one brother Roger Holt of Marianna, Arkansas, three sister-in-laws Wilma and husband Fred Bouse, Bert and husband Larry Bouse and Charlotte Bouse all of Cuba, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation Monday, May 25, 2009 from 5 till 8 pm at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral service 11 am Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba with Pastor Don Vaughn officiating. Special music for the service will be 郢邀邜Go Rest High on that Mountain郢邀邝, "Sissy's Song" and 郢邀邜When He Reached Down His Hand for Me郢邀邝. Interment will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Adair family.
