Loretta J. Garrett of Park Hills, Missouri, formerly of Cuba, was born Monday, January 18, 1932 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Ray E. and Lula Tucker McGuire and left from this life on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Country Meadow, Park Hills, Missouri at the age of 85 years. Loretta spent her life taking care of her home and family. She loved going to church, singing, sewing and in her younger years, she spent many hours roller skating. Loretta believed in keeping an immaculate house. She was always cleaning, regardless of where she was. In her spare time, she enjoyed yard sales, garage sales and shopping. After Loretta's health began to decline, she moved to Cuba Manor and there she loved helping the other residents. Loretta was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great aunt and friend of many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Loretta is preceded in death by her parents Ray and Lula McGuire, two sisters Sonya Collier and Wanda, one brother Johnny Fred McGuire and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving children; Ann Cole of Arnold, Claude Garrett, Tom Garrett of Bonne Terre, Missouri and Mary Garrett of Bonne Terre, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one more on the way, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba with Pastor Don Martin officiating. Special music will be "In The Garden", "When The Ring Those Golden Bells" and "The Old Rugged Cross". Interment and prayers will follow at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Loretta's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving Loretta's family.
