Loretta June Holtmann

Loretta June Holtmann (nee: Toomey) of Cuba, Missouri was born on July 23, 1923, in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Leo John and Loretto C. Toomey. She left this life on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Steelville Senior Living at the age of 101 years 3 months and 28 days.

Being named after her mother, she had many nicknames – Sis, Dolly, Tootie and Babe. Some people actually never knew her real name.

Loretta was united in marriage to James W. Holtmann on April 23, 1946, at Epiphany of Our Lord Church in St. Louis. They spent many happy years living on Bendick Ave. and raising their three children.

They would move to the Cuba area after James retired from being a Union Carpenter. Loretta loved growing roses, feeding the squirrels, playing bingo and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; husband of forty-five years James W. Holtmann; her bingo buddies and her lifelong friends and neighbors.

Those who are left to treasure her memory are her three children Linda and husband Dave Bresnahan of Cuba, James G. and wife Anne Holtmann of Affton, Leo John Holtmann of St. Louis; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

In keeping with her wishes, Loretta will be cremated and her cremains will be interred at Holy Cross Cemetery in Cuba at a later date.
