Lorene Alice Martin of Steelville, Missouri was born on March 4, 1937, in Cherryville, Missouri to the union of Calvin A. and Pearl (Collier) Pyatt. She left this life on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 86.
Lorene united in marriage to Albert Martin on February 5, 1955, in Steelville, Missouri. To this union six children were born Rhonda, Jerry, Carl, Roger, Deric and Nathan.
Lorene worked at Brown Shoe for several years and would later spend time cleaning homes in the area. She enjoyed attending church, singing, flower gardening, cooking, bowling and spending time with her family.
Lorene is preceded in death by her parents Calvin A. and Pearl (Collier) Pyatt; husband Albert J. “AB” Martin; one son Carl Martin; two brothers Cecil Pyatt, Lloyd and wife Helen Lea; three sisters Dory and husband Harold Wilson, Gladys and husband Lloyd Green, Fannie and husband Franklin Ware; two sisters-in-law Anna Mae White and Roberta White; two brothers-in-law Cecil and wife Floye Martin, James Martin.
Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her five children Rhonda and husband Robert Pyatt of Ridgecrest, California, Jerry and wife Vicki Martin of Steelville, Missouri, Roger Martin and Deric Martin both of St. Clair, Missouri, Nathan and wife Angie Martin of Cuba, Missouri; ten grandchildren Jason West, Zack Pyatt, Justin Martin and companion Shawntae, Travis Martin, Brittany and husband Jake King, Savannah Martin, Allison and husband Joey Ridenhour, Tierra and husband Jared Wilkinson, Trevor Martin and Trystan Martin; one brother-in-law Henry and wife Bonnie Martin of Davisville, Missouri; three sisters-in-law Mabel Volner of Steelville, Missouri, Betty Martin of Steelville, Missouri and Mildred Pyatt of Eldon, Missouri; nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Martin-Trask Cemetery, 124 Martin Cemetery Rd. Cherryville, Missouri with Pastor Clifford Bridgeman, officiating.
Special music, “I want to stroll over heaven with you” and “This is the day the lord has made” will be provided by Dave and Bonnie Callahan.
