Lois Stroud

Lois Stroud of Cuba, Missouri was born December 26, 1948 at Waynesville, Missouri to the union of John and Loretta (Nee: Gittemeier) Daniel and left from this life surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at her home in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 64 years. Lois was united in marriage to Henry Stroud on August 20, 1969 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church of Cuba, Missouri and to this union one daughter was born Samantha. Lois worked as an inventory specialist for G & W Heel Lift Company of Cuba for many years before she was diagnosed with cancer. Lois worked hard, enjoyed animals and valued her friends. She owned and operated a dog kennel for several years, but it wasn't for the money, it was to take care of the dogs and to help out their owners. Lois was a life time dedicated member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Lois was the most kind hearted person you could ever meet and was always helping others any way she could. What Lois enjoyed most in life was spending hours on the phone with her family and friends and taking care of her grandchildren. Lois was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend. She will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. Lois is preceded in death by her parents John and Loretta Daniel, daughter Samantha Stroud, brothers Jim and Bob Daniel, sister Jackie Edward and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy is her loving husband of forty four years Henry Stroud of the home, two grandchildren Alyssa Fowler and Jarret Stroud of Cuba, one brother Tom Daniel of Cuba, sisters-in-law Ruth Daniel of Cuba and Kathlene Gremillion of Tennessee, brothers-in-law Hubert Stroud of California, Douglas Stroud of Texas, Carroll Stroud and Joe Stroud of Louisiana, best friend Jackie Murphy, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 4:00 till 7:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington, Cuba, Missouri. A "Celebration of Life" service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba. Please come and share your favorite memory of Lois. A Celebration of Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, October 11, 2013 with Father William Korte as celebrant. Honored to be serving as pall bearers will be Doug, Dave, Dale, Matt, CJ and Richard. Interment and prayers will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. In lieu of flowers; masses or donation to Lois's grandchildren education fund (savings account) would be greatly appreciated. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Stroud family.
