Lillie M. Callahan of Cuba, Missouri was born on November 15, 1945, in Corning, Arkansas to the union of Carl and Esther (Wright) Watkins. She left this life at her home on Thursday, May 4th, 2023, surrounded by her family at the age of 77.

 

Lillie was united in marriage to Samuel L. Callahan on December 10, 1977, in Dupo, Illinois. Together they would raise six children, Ben, Larry, Teresa, Dustin, Nikki and Josh.

 

Lillie was a homemaker and lived to take care of her home and family. She was a devoted member of Evangelical Holiness Church, and she loved the Lord with all her heart. She loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed playing UNO with her grandson and Texas Canasta with anyone she could.

 

Lillie was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Esther (Wright) Watkins; husband Samuel L. Callahan; two brothers Dean and Eddie Watkins; three sisters Katherine Ford, Betty Arendall and Lillian Williams.

 

Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her six children Ben (Kim) Callahan of Dupo, Illinois, Larry (Tina) Crismon of Barnhart; Teresa (John) Meade of Quilan, Texas, Dustin Callahan of Kansas City, Nikki Eads of Kansas City, Kansas, Joshua (Deborah) Callahan of Cuba; two sisters Vera Hudson of Bonne Terre and Laura Belmar of Poplar Bluff; twenty-seven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.

 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, from 5-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St, Cuba, Missouri.

 

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Don Mitchell, officiating.

 

Interment will follow at Martin Cemetery in Cherryville, Missouri with Pastor Harrison Brown, officiating.

 

If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the Susan G. Komen – MO, KS (MO 300).
