Lida Mayo Busbey

Lida Mayo Busbey of Jefferson City, Missouri was born to the union of Stephen O. and Ellen V. (Watson) Ferguson on August 29, 1924 in Dent County, Missouri. She went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 12, 2018 at her home at the age of 94 years. Mayo was united in marriage to Amos Everett Busbey on September 27, 1941 in Salem, Missouri and to this union four children were born Amos Ray, Carolyn Sue, Joyce and Nancy Irene. Mayo was a homemaker. In her earlier years, she worked at Boeing, Wagon Wheel Restaurant and Cuba Hotel. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds, crocheting, sewing, quilting and reading. Mayo is preceded in death by her parents Stephen O. and Ellen V. (Watson) Ferguson; husband Amos Everett Busbey; three children Carolyn Sue, Nancy Irene and Amos Ray Busbey; one granddaughter Tanya Sue Busbey; five brothers Harold, Cordell, Darl, Arthur and Harley Ferguson; two sisters Della Williams and Sylvia Lunsford; one son-in-law Garry Seabaugh. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her daughter Joyce Seabaugh of Jefferson City, Missouri; four grandchildren Angela Wright and Danielle Childs both of Jefferson City, Missouri, Terry Mangum of Florida, Kayla Waller of South Carolina; eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Hogan, officiating. Interment will follow at Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Busbey family.
