Leonard Knepper of Cuba, Missouri was born Friday, January 25, 1924 to the union of Fredrick and Mary (nee: Scharff) Knepper at Greenville, Illinois and left from this life on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 86 years 7 months and 22 days. Leonard proudly served in the United States Army from 1942 till 1945 reaching the rank of Tech 5. He was in the Battle of the Bulge serving under the direction of General Patton. Leonard was united in marriage to Dorothy Lee Huskey on November 2, 1968. He worked for over 50 years as an auto body repair man. He was a lifetime member of the Cuba VFW Post 7147. Leonard spent his life working and taking care of his family. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew, loved and respected him. He is preceded in death by his parents Fredrick and Mary Knepper, wife Dorothy Knepper, daughter Linda Scego, three brothers Fred, Roland and William é¢ééBillé¢éé Knepper, two sisters Elvera Knepper and Viola Walthes and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy is his two sons James Knepper of Steelville and William é¢ééBillé¢éé Knepper of Cuba, son-in-law Doug Scego of Cuba, one sister Marie of Ewing, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, fellow veterans and friends. Visitation will be held Monday, September 20, 2010 from 5 till 8 PM at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Graveside service with full military honors will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with Pastor Norman Heironimus officiating. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Knepper family.
