Leila P. 'Lee' Vandervoort

Leila P. "Lee" Vandervoort of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union Thomas J. and Leona M. (Shamel) Evans on December 25, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri and left from this life on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 79. Lee was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling, gardening, flowers, cats, boating, fishing, swimming, politics, reading, antiquing and collecting stuff. Lee is preceded in death by her parents Thomas J. and Leona M. (Shamel) Evans; husband William Vandervoort; one granddaughter Candace White. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her daughter Carolyn and husband Charles Wells of Cuba, Missouri; granddaughter Amanda Barnett and friend Sean Dobkins of Columbia, Missouri; three grandchildren Cameron Britt, Zachary Thurmond and Ella Dobkins; one aunt Margaret Pietrowski of Cuba, Missouri and many friends. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011 11:00 a.m. at Delhi Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society or Humane Society. The Mizell Funeral Home is Honored to be serving the Vandervoort family.
