Lawrence "Clifton" Bourne

Lawrence “Clifton” Bourne of Cuba, Missouri was born on Wednesday, November 2, 1932 in Pattonville, Missouri to the union of George D. and Cora (Adams) Bourne. He left from this life on Friday, December 3, 2021 at John Cochran VA Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 89 years.

Clifton honorably served his country in United States Navy from 1949 until 1955, as an aircraft mechanic. He worked at McDonnell-Douglas for several years and would later become a truck driver. He enjoyed aviation, watching sports, driving on short trips, eating out at his favorite restaurants, spending time with his family and he was always up for a visit from Donna Graddy.

Clifton is preceded in death by his parents George D. and Cora (Adams) Bourne; wife Betty Jane (Glasgow) Bourne; one son Jerry A. Bourne; one grandson Jerry A. Bourne, Jr.; one brother James Bourne; one sister Barbara Rickard; one brother-in-law Bill Glasgow.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his three sons Kelly and wife Lesley Bourne of Cuba, Gary and Leota Bourne of O’Fallon, Lawrence “Larry” Bourne who would also leave from this life on Sunday, December 5, 2021; six grandchildren Cristina and husband Jason Kegley, Jamie Bourne, Sarah and husband Tommy Purk, George Bourne, Jennifer Bourne and John Bourne; eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.

Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 1:30 p.m. at Kinder Cemetery with Pastor Don Martin, officiating. Military honors will conclude the service.
