Larry Dearing

d. April 23, 2018

Larry Dearing began his life surrounded by love. He was loved by his mom and dad. He was adored by his grandparents. His grandmother kept a supply of peanut butter and jelly to feed a hungry kid. His grandpa was always ready to play a game of catch with him. Larry and his buddies played ball in his grandparent's side yard. The grandparents house provided a wonderful surface for playing a solitaire game of catch. Being a boy of mischievous deeds, he and his friends could get themselves in conflict with their parents when they disregarded explicit "do nots" such as going cave exploring and riding ponies. Larry attended Central Missouri State in Warrensburg, where he widened his circle of friends and acquaintances. He graduated in 1964 and began his career as an accountant. He also became a Mason and achieved 3rd Degree/Master Mason. He had interest and endeavors and accomplishments such as; volunteer policeman in St. Ann (he had a gun but had to keep the bullets in his pocket). He honed the skills of a cabinet maker and created several pieces of impressive furniture. One of the next things that beckoned to his creativity was writing poetry and learning how to do square dance calling. This involved schooling, buying the appropriate equipment and lots of practice. This can be attested by the rest of the family who could sing "Tulsa Time" on que! But his favorite hobby became learning how to make pottery. Once again, getting the appropriate equipment, schooling and lots of practice to conquer a new hobby. He was continually asking folks if they wanted pottery. He lived seventy-six and half years gathering family, friends, new skills and most of all enjoying life.
