Kenneth Elmer Otterman of Cuba, Missouri was born February 17, 1931 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Lewis Jacob and Gladys (nee: Myers) Otterman and left from this life on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 80 years 4 months and 26 days. Kenny or known by his family as Elmer retired from Fleming Manufacturing of Cuba after 34 years of dedicated service. He formerly served on the Cuba Fire Department for 17 years. He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church for over 60 years where he volunteered to help with everything. Kenny could always be found for lunch at the Cuba Senior Center, his "2nd" home. In his spare time he enjoyed working in his garden. He was a son, brother, brother-in-law, husband, step father, step grandfather, step great grandfather, god parent, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Gladys Otterman, step son Joe Turnbaugh, brother Sonny Otterman, sister-in-law Jean Otterman and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Dorothy Otterman of the home, three step children Dr. Thomas and wife Ann Turnbaugh of Jefferson City, Missouri, James Turnbaugh of New Orleans and Judy Windham of Cuba, six step grandchildren Hillary, Joseph, Joshua, James Roy, Becky & Amy, two sisters Lillian and husband Lee Hedrick of Arnold, Missouri and Dolores and husband Tom Foster of Barnhart, Missouri, one brother Herbert Otterman of Cuba, two god children Kevin Foster and Cheryl Bell, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 16, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 730 Fleenor Road, Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Pat Runk officiating. The Cuba Fire Department will be serving as pallbearers. Interment and prayers will follow at the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to the Cuba Senior Center 206 N. Smith St. Cuba, Missouri 65453. The Mizell Funeral Home is Honored to be serving the Otterman family.
