Katherine L. “Katie” Mason of Leasburg, Missouri peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at the age of 73. She was born on February 2, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas to Joseph D. and Adelina (Lopez) Lajzer.
Katie's journey began when she married David A. Mason on April 3, 1971, in San Antonio, Texas. Together, they welcomed two beautiful daughters into the world - Kristina and Kimberly.
Throughout her life, Katie had a successful career with Southwestern Bell where she started as a switchboard operator after high school graduation and eventually became a Lead Supervisor before retiring. She loved the outdoors and found solace in nature's beauty while fishing, snorkeling and embracing various adventures. Additionally, Katie enjoyed cooking and travelling to explore new places.
Katie was preceded in death by her loving parents, Joseph and Adelina (Lopez) Lajzer, as well as her husband David A. Mason and daughter Kristina L. Mason.
Katie leaves behind cherished memories for her fiancé, Patrick O’Fallon of Leasburg, Missouri; her daughter Kimberly Mason of Cannon Lake, Texas; step-son Michael A. Mason of Reno, Nevada; grandchildren Mekayla, Cheyenne and Mason; great-granddaughter Andromeda Rose; brother Sidney Lajzer of Round Rock, Texas; and nephew John Brian Lajzer of Georgetown, Texas. She also leaves behind extended family members and numerous friends who were touched by her presence.
In accordance with Katie's wishes, she will be cremated.
A memorial mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba, Missouri in the spring of 2024, followed by inurnment in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Leasburg, Missouri.
The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba has the honor of serving the family of Katherine L. “Katie” Mason during this difficult time.
