Katherine A. "Kay" Voss of Cuba, Missouri was born on Thursday, July 29, 1948 at Jefferson City, Missouri to the union of Virgil and Dorothy (nee: Fisher) Bartel and left from this life on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Cuba Manor at the age of 68 years. Kay, as she was known by many, graduated from Business College in May of 1970. On September 26, 1970 Kay was united in marriage to David L. Voss at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Owensville, Missouri. They were the proud parents of Brad and Wendy. Kay was the bookkeeper for Voss Truck Port of Cuba for many years. Kay enjoyed playing the piano, singing, music of all kinds, taking walks and was a devout member of Holy Cross Catholic Church before her health began to decline. At any time you could walk in to Kay's office or home and music would be playing. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and she truly enjoyed the grandchildren being a part of her daily life. To know Kay was to know that she was a worrier, not about herself, but about everyone else. Kay always had a kind and gentle spirit, never raised her voice or had a bad word to say about anything. Kay was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, great aunt, sister-in-law and treasured friend of many. She will be forever remembered and never forgotten by all who knew and loved her. Kay is preceded in death by her father Virgil Bartel, husband David L. "Dave" Voss and other family and friends Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her two children; Brad and Renee Ross Voss of Cuba, Missouri and Wendy and husband Ed Randell of Cuba, Missouri, seve grandchildren; Tyler, Ethan, Katherine, Tome, Nate, Eva and Finn, mother Dorothy Fisher Bartel of Owensville, Missouri, one brother Steve and wife Joanne Bartel of Illinois, three sisters Elaine and husband John Scego of Owensville, Missouri, Renae and husband Keith Stumpe of Mexico, Missouri and Debbie Collins of Sn Diego, California two brothers-in-law Joseph and wife Rhoda Voss of Owensville, Missouri and Clements and wife Stefanie Voss of Pacific, Missouri, sister-in-law Gloria and husband William Jackson of Hurst, Texas, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 415 W School Street, Cuba, Missouri. A celebration of mass will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 415 W School Street, Cuba with Father Rich Boever as celebrant. Interment and prayers will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Voss family.
