Junita Audrey Hopkins of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Henry Charles and Iona (Marotte) Pope on November 11, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri and left from this life on Sunday, May 30, 2010 in her home at the age of 85. Junita retired from DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri after many years of service as a Medical Secretary. She was a member of Cuba Church of Christ and enjoyed reading, crocheting, painting, crafts, playing pinochle, talking with friends and studying her Bible. Junita is preceded in death by her parents Henry Charles and Iona (Marotte) Pope; one sister Vivian Williams; one brother William C. Pope and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her son Craig and wife Theresa Hopkins of Cuba, Missouri; three granddaughters Michelle and husband Daniel Pinnell of Cuba, Missouri, Melissa Hopkins of Cuba, Missouri, Nicole and husband Aaron Harrison of Defuniak Springs, Florida; one great-granddaughter Olivia Pinnell; one sister Elizabeth é¢ééBettyé¢éé Pope of St. Louis, Missouri; special friends Ovia Marie and husband Leroy McGinnis, Renee and husband David Bowen both of Cuba, Missouri and other relatives and friends. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, June 4, 2010 1:00 p.m. at Cuba Church of Christ on Hwy. 19, Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Steven Wick, officiating. If desired memorials would be appreciated to the Cuba Church of Christ Building Fund. The Britton Funeral of Cuba is honored to be serving the Hopkins family.
