Joyce Gail Ledbetter of Cuba, Missouri was born Friday, June 25, 1937 at Centerville, Missouri to the union of Chester and Sylvia (nee: Camden) Martin and left from this life on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 72 years 3 months and 25 days. Joyce was united in marriage to Lawrence E. é¢ééMoeé¢éé Ledbetter on January 26, 1974 at Clayton, Missouri. Joyce was part of the first group of Meter maids in St. Louis. After living in St. Louis for many years they moved to Cuba in the mid 1980é¢éés. Joyce worked for Custom Printing in Owensville for 10 years before going to work at the Cuba Wal-Mart where she became known as é¢ééThe Wal-Mart Ladyé¢éé. Joyce enjoyed scratch off lottery tickets, playing bingo, the St. Louis Cardinals, trying out new restaurants, é¢ééWhite Castlesé¢éé, and in her younger years she enjoyed fishing, camping and the outdoors. Joyce was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents Chester and Sylvia Martin, husband Moe Ledbetter, infant daughter Victoria Meyers, granddaughter Reneé¢éé Meyers and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy is her four sons Jerry Martin and friend Gail Stuart of Cuba, Tony Meyers of Owensville, Victor Meyers of Cuba and Patrick Meyers and friend Sue Warner of St. Louis, eight grandchildren Jennifer Mayberry, Tara and Tim Martin, Vince Meyers, Sara Proffer, Jennifer and husband Brad Ray, Crystal Proffer and Trinity, brother Elmo and wife Vesta Martin of St. Louis and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, October 24, 2009 from 4 till 7 PM at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral service will be 2 PM Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba with John Breese officiating. Interment will follow at the Asher Cemetery, St. James, Missouri. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Joyce's memory. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving Joyceé¢éés family.
