Joyce A. Corbett of Cuba, Missouri, was born on May 16, 1955, in Hillsboro, Missouri, to James B. and Anna J. (Anderson) Duncan. On October 9, 2024, she departed this world, enveloped in the love of her family, at the age of 69.
Joyce's journey through life was marked by her devotion to her family, which began with her marriage to Anthony David Corbett on July 1, 1972, at the Church of God in Sullivan, Missouri. Their union brought forth three cherished sons: Shane, Dane, and Dustin.
For several years, Joyce served with distinction as the Administrator of Cuba Manor, where her commitment to caring for others shone brightly. As an ordained minister within the Church of God, she found deep fulfillment in her faith, being a longtime member of Covenant Praise Church of God and later the Cornerstone Church of God in Marionville, Missouri. Outside of her professional and spiritual commitments, Joyce delighted in the simple joys of life—whether it was reading a captivating book, singing her favorite songs, casting a line while fishing, enjoying the serenity of camping, engaging in spirited card games, or making treasured memories alongside her family.
Joyce is preceded in death by her loving parents, her sister Fern along with her husband Buddy Stroup, her sister-in-law Betty and husband Mel Todd, and her brother-in-law Donnie Corbett.
Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted husband, Anthony David Corbett; her three sons, Shane and his wife Dorrie of Cuba, Dane and his wife Christian of Aurora, and Dustin and his wife Amanda of Sullivan; her six adored grandchildren, Micah, Jacob, Malachi, Loryn, Paige, and Braxton. She is also survived by her brother Neil and wife Mary Duncan of Sullivan, as well as her sisters Neva and husband Dave Cassidy of Steelville, Karen Weems of Cuba, and Rhonda and husband Tom Hibbitts of Sheldon. Additionally, she leaves behind three brothers-in-law, Gary Corbett of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Paul and wife Rita Corbett of Cedar Hill, Dale and wife Dianne Corbett of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister-in-law, Julie Corbett of Orangeburg, South Carolina; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends who loved her dearly.
