Joseph F. Filippi

Joseph F. Filippi of Davisville, Missouri was born to the union of Joseph and Anna Theresa (Schaljo) Filippi on December 6, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri and left from this life on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at his home at the age of 81. Joseph was united in marriage to Carol L. Todd on January 26, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union three children were born James, Joseph E. and Laura. Joseph owned and operated South County Shoe Repair in the South County Mall in St. Louis for many years. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop, being outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and was very active with the Boy Scouts of America for many years. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Theresa Anna (Schaljo) Filippi. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife Carol L. Filippi of Davisville, Missouri; three children James Filippi of St. Clair, Missouri, Joseph E. Filippi of Cuba, Missouri, Laura and husband Mark Lackey of St. James, Missouri; seven grandchildren Jessica, Jennifer, Jeremy, Elizabeth, Tyler, Brittany and Alyssa; six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 11, 2016 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Father John Patrick Day, officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at St. James Cemetery, St. James, Missouri. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Filippi family.
