Joseph Eugene Bourbon of Bourbon, Missouri was born on Wednesday, February 18, 1942 in Washington, Missouri to the union of William and Mary (Emily) Bourbon. He left from this life on Monday, July 12, 2021 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan at the age of 79 years.
Gene was united in marriage to Marlene Burkemper on February 1, 1964 in Creve Coeur, Missouri. To this union one daughter was born Anna Marie.
Gene retired after many years of dedicated service at the Chrysler Manufacturing Plant in Fenton. He honorably served his Country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed going fishing, spending time in Texas and his trips to Hawaii.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents William and Mary (Emily) Bourbon; wife Marlene (Burkemper) Bourbon; daughter Anna Marie Fleming; one brother Jim E. Bourbon; two brothers-in-law Bobby Millard and Richard Alfermann.
Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving companion Betty Blankenship of Bourbon; three sisters Margaret Millard of Robertsville; Barbara Alfermann of Washington, Irene and husband Ray Masters of Kempner, Texas; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church 415 W. School St. Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Dan Lueckenotte as the celebrant.
Interment with full military honors will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
