Johnny Lee Elliston

Johnny Lee Elliston of Cuba, Missouri was born on Thursday, November 3, 1960, in Steelville, Missouri to the union of Roy Lee and Alma Martha (Gregory) Elliston. He left from this life on Friday, January 27, 2023, at his home at the age of 62.


Johnny graduated from Cuba High School “Class of 1979”. He would honorably serve his country in the United States Air Force. He attended Southwest Baptist University from 1992-1993 and Columbia College 1996. He worked for Dent County Development Disability from 1986-1989, H&R Block in Cuba and Sullivan and Delano Oil.


Johnny enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, trying his luck on lottery tickets and ancestry search of his family. He was a fun-loving guy, and you could always find him as the center of attention, as he would have everyone laughing. He loved spending time with his family and friends.


Johnny is preceded in death by his father Roy Lee Elliston.


Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his mother Alma Martha (Gregory) Ray of Sullivan; sisters and brother Shirley Ann Young of St. James, Joyce Hamilton of Cuba, Barbara Jean (Jim) Welch of Salem, Roy Mark Elliston of Lenox and Rebecca Lee Hollingsworth (James Hollingshead) of Sullivan; special friend Connie (Woodruff) Conaway of Cuba; three special sons Santiago, Zach and Isaac; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.


Visitation will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.


Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023, 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor William Creamer, officiating.


Honored to be serving as pallbearers are Mike Bopp, Ronnie Woodruff, Jason Quick, Brad Littrell, Bennie Sou-Sammo and Elmer Gregory, Jr.


Interment with full military honors will follow at Delhi Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of Mizell Funeral Home.
