Johnny Austin Volner

Johnny Austin Volner of Cuba, Missouri was born May 27, 1950 at Rosati, Missouri to the union of Austin and Daisy (nee: Britton) Volner and left from this life surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the age of 62 years. Johnny was united in marriage to Pamela Casarotto on December 15, 1978 in Cuba and to this union two children were born Amanda and Christopher. Johnny was an over the road truck driver for many years and for the last fifteen years has been the owner/operator of Volner Trucking. Johnny drove many miles and many hours to support his family but he always enjoyed the hours that he got to spend at home with them. In his few spare minutes he enjoyed hunting, fishing and building model airplanes, but after the grandchildren arrived all he wanted to do was spend his time with them and his family. Johnny was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, great uncle, cousin, brother-in-law, son-in-law and friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Johnny is preceded in death by his parents Austin and Daisy Volner, one sister Lois Jean Ottermann, mother-in-law Sharon Casarotto and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife of thirty four years Pamela Volner of the home, two children Amanda Crow and Christopher Volner both of Cuba, four grandchildren Hailee, Dylan, Paige and Macie, two brothers Roger and wife Jackie Volner of Cuba, Donald and wife Diane Volner of Sullivan, two sisters Betty and husband Darrell Harvey of Elmo, Missouri and Debra Williams of Washington, Missouri, brother-in-law Herbert Ottermann, sisters-in-law Pat and husband Ronnie Woodruff and Linda and husband Ken Fowler, father-in-law John Casarotto all of Cuba, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 5:00 till 8:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Mizell Funeral Home with Brother Roger Taber officiating. Special music will be "When I Get to Where I'm Going" and "Go Rest High on That Mountain". Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Mizell Funeral Home. Interment and prayers will follow at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Volner family.
