John Russell Weber

May 24, 1942 — July 15, 2018

John Russell Weber of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Clyde William and Mary Elizabeth (Russell) Weber on Sunday, May 24, 1942 at Leasburg, Missouri. He left from this life, peacefully at his home, on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the age of 76 years. John proudly retired from the United States Navy, obtaining the rank of E-6. During his 20 years of active duty, he traveled the world, serving three tours in Vietnam and at numerous other ports. After retiring from the United State Navy, he would later work as a Boiler Tech for University of Missouri-Rolla and retire again after 24 years of service. He was a member of InJoy Christian Fellowship. In his spare time, he could be found repairing Lawn Boy mowers. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing a game of pool, spoiling his two fur babies Sugar and Sassy and spending time with his family and friends. John is preceded in death by his parents Clyde William Weber and Mary Elizabeth (Russell) Sherril; one brother-in-law Mick McGuire; one sister-in-law Mary Weber and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife Shirley (Hughes) Weber of the home; nine children Rena and husband Randy Tiner of Cuba, Connie Kelderman of Cuba, Johnny Bell of Olympia, Washington, Brenda Sellers of Cuba, Liz and husband Ron McIntosh of Cuba, Patty and husband Don Spaulding of Cuba, Johnny Ray and wife Edie Weber of Florissant, Dr. Terry and wife Renee Sellers of Cuba, Dr. Butch and wife Tambra Sellers of Sullivan; three brothers and three sisters Bill and wife Marianna Weber of Cuba, Ralph Weber of Troy, Linda McGuire of Bourbon, Nona and husband Rick Taylor of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Theresa and husband Dennis Chandler of Cuba, Clyde Edward and wife Vickie Weber of Louisville, Kentucky; two sisters-in-law Norma and husband Whop Oldfather of Owensville and Linda Hughes of Cuba; special friends Frank and wife Anne Hance of Rolla, Jim and wife Jeanette Strosnider of Bourbon; nineteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor John Parker, officiating. Special music will be "In The Garden", "How Great Thou Art", "The Old Rugged Cross", "Amazing Grace" and "If You Could See Me Now". Interment, prayers and full military honors will follow at Meramec Hill Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to InJoy Christian Fellowship, 4780 Old Hwy. 66, Bourbon, Missouri 65441. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Weber family.
