John Raymond DeClue, Sr. of Steelville, Missouri was born Thursday, November 8, 1956 at Potosi, Missouri to the union of William and Gracie DeClue and left from this life, surrounded by family, on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Saint Clair, Missouri at the age of 60 years. John worked as a machinist in Moberly, Missouri and he worked for Chrysler a short time but what he did most of his life was cut wood. You could find John in the woods every day of the week. He sold wood to the canoe rentals and the campgrounds for over forty plus years. John also worked for Richards Wood Products in Steelville for thirty years. Even after John's health began to decline, three years ago, he still went to the woods. John enjoyed working, cutting wood, listening to classical rock music and he was a good cook. What John truly loved most in life was spending time with family and friends. John was a loving, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, great uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and friend of many. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. John is preceded in death by his parents William and Gracie DeClue, one sister Janet DeClue and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving children Eva Moore and companion Tina Schindler of Cuba, Angie Carl and friend Jake Gassmann of Cuba, Mary and husband Alberto Leija of Cuba and John and wife Lindsey DeClue, Jr. of Saint Clair, eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild, wife Jamie DeClue of Steelville, three brothers Bobby and wife Georgian DeClue of Potosi, Billy and wife Joyce DeClue of Steelville and Jimmy DeClue of Potosi, one sister Judy DeClue of Potosi, best friend Ron Carl of Steelville, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 12:00 till 2:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 18th at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba. Special recorded music will be "Go Rest High on that Mountain", "The Man I Want to Be" and "Freebird". Interment and prayers will follow at the Steelville Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving John's family.
