John Steven Blanton

John Steven Blanton of St. James, Missouri was born on January 20, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Homer C. and Erna (Rocklage) Blanton. He left this life peacefully on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at the age of 81.

John was united marriage to Carol A. Weatherly on May 21, 1966, in Bourbon, Missouri. To this union one daughter was born, Janine.  

John graduated from Bourbon High School and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked for AT&T as a Microwave Technician for several years and later for the Department of Natural Resources - Rolla in the IT Department.

John was an avid reader, he enjoyed working on computers, black powder rifles, playing chess and other strategy games. Most importantly, John loved his wife and family, spending time with them was his greatest joy.

John was preceded in death by his parents Homer C. and Erna (Rocklage) Blanton.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife of fifty-seven years Carol A. (Weatherly) Blanton of St. James; one daughter Janine and husband Allen Williston of Foristell; two granddaughters Carolynn and husband Estevan Williston-Ruiz of Webster Groves, Emma and husband Conner Kostelac of St. Peters; one great-grandchild on the way; one brother Jerry Blanton of Gerald; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A private family visitation and funeral service will be held.

Interment with full military honors will follow at St. James Cemetery, St. James, Missouri.

A celebration of life service will be held later.
