John Arthur Joseph Swaller

John Arthur Joseph Swaller of Cuba, Missouri was born on Saturday, August 24, 1957, in High Ridge, Missouri to the union of John R. and Anna R. (Schierhoff) Swaller. He left from this life surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at his home at the age of 65.

John was united in marriage to Rose Miner on July 17, 1976, and to this union five children were born Christy, Rebecca, Chris, John J. and Ashley.

John worked as a truck farmer and mason tender for several years. He and his wife have owned and operated “The Rose” in Cuba for over twenty years. He enjoyed his John Deere Tractor, Mustangs, feeding the deer and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

John is preceded in death by his parents John R. and Anna R. (Schierhoff) Swaller; one daughter Christy Swaller; one brother William Swaller.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife Rose Swaller; four children Rebecca Birkner (Brian Portell), Chris (Jamie) Berry, John J. Swaller and Ashley Swaller (Nate Hendrix) all of Cuba; nine grandchildren Mason, Jackson, Cameron, Wyatt, Abby, Khloe, John Jo, Isaiah and Scarlett; three sisters and one brother Mary Anne Rarick of Florida, Linda (John) Horton of Barnhart, Rita (Bob) White of Cuba, Timothy Swaller of Sullivan; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023, from 3-5 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023, 5:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Rev. J.D. Horton, officiating.

In keeping with his wishes, John will be cremated following the funeral service.
