'Jodi' Ellen Joann Stewart

Ellen Joann "Jodi" Stewart of Cuba, Missouri was born July 23, 1936 at Oak Hill, Missouri to the union of Clarence and Bernice (nee: Warren) Rector and left from this life on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 77 years. Jodi was united in marriage to Clifford Stewart on October 8, 1954 in Cuba, Missouri and to this union three children were born; Carla, Cathy and Kevin. Jodi graduated from the Cuba High School in 1953 and in the early 1960's she graduated from Hair Styling School in St. Charles, Missouri. Jodi was a hair stylist from 1961 till she retired in 2005. Jodi owned and operated Joe Bee Beauty Shop, Country Curl, JP Locks and Designing Women and also worked at Chalet. Jodi enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting, embroidering and cross stitch. She spent hours planting flowers in her yard and for the last few years she also planted a small herb garden. Jodi was the Stewart, Rector and Warren family genealogist. She put together a large book on the Stewart family and distant family member would just stop by to see if Jodi had any information on their family. Jodi was a wonderful listener and a great supporter of her whole family. Jodi's greatest wish in life was to have great grandchildren and in November of 2102 she finished a beautiful baby quilt and in June of this year that great grandchild will have that beautiful gift. Jodi was a loving daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend to everyone she ever met. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Jodi is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Bernice Rector, brothers-in-law Charles "Chuck" Stewart, William Stewart and Bill Albrecht and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy is her loving husband of nearly sixty years Clifford Stewart of the home, three children Carla and husband David Koch of Columbia, Missouri, Cathy Stewart of St. Louis, Missouri and Kevin Stewart of Arizona, one grandson David and wife Stephanie Woodruff of Colorado, brother-in-law Bob and wife Joyce Stewart of Cuba, sisters-in-law Marilyn Stewart, June Albrecht both of Cuba, Lou Stewart of Waynesville, Nancy and husband Don Fischer of Fort Mauve, Arizona, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 10 AM till 12 Noon at the Mizell funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba. Special music will be "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art" and "I'll Fly Away". A private family interment and prayers will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Oak Hill Cemetery. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Stewart family.
