Jill Ann Weilitz of Cuba, Missouri was born May 26, 1933 in St. Croix, Wisconsin to the union of John Clayton and Eleanora Cecilia (nee: Swanson) Rutherford and left from this life on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at her lake home in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 79 years 3 months and 19 days. Jill was united in marriage to Burton L. Weilitz on April 10, 1954 at Lake Crystal, Minnesota and to this union three children were born Linda, Alan and Carol. Jill and Burt were happily married for 40 years. Jill taught first grade for one year before she was married and after marriage she took care of her home and family. She was a 50+ year member of the O.E.S. Cuba Chapter, member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cuba since moving from St. Ann to Indian Hills Lake in 1990. Jill was a member of the Golden Mariners, the "Lunch Bunch", the "Fab Five" and served as treasurer, secretary, vice president and president of the Indian Hills Lake Ladies Auxiliary. She served as a Girl Scout leader when they lived in St. Ann and she enjoyed camping, the outdoors, bird watching, especially humming birds and was an excellent artist. Jill had a great gift of being able to help others; she would listen, give advice and mentor to the young and old alike. Jill was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt and friend to many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her husband Burt L. Weilitz, parents J.C. and Eleanor Rutherford, son Alan Weilitz, sister Janet and her husband Harley O. Wall, brother Jack Rutherford and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving daughters Linda Moore of Cuba and Carol and husband Maximilian Schwartz III of St. Louis, four grandchildren Maximilian IV, Anna, John and Jonathan (Stephanie Perry), two great grandchildren Mariah and Anthony, daughter-in-law Pamela and husband Joshua Badders of St. Louis, niece Kim Wall of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, other relatives and a host of friends. A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00 till 2:00 PM Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington, Cuba, Missouri followed by a 2:00 PM Memorial Service with Pastor Pat Gruber officiating. Special music will be "In The Garden", "Thank God for Kids" and "How Great Thou Art". In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Relay for Life, First Presbyterian Church of Cuba or a plant that can be planted in a Memorial Garden in remembrance of Jill. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving Jill's family.
