Jessie Ellen Mahurin of Cuba, Missouri was born on Wednesday, July 5, 1978, in Rolla, Missouri to the union of Loyd Eugene and Sharon J. (Webster) Mahurin. She left from this life unexpectedly on Monday, August 9, 2021, at St. Clare Health Center in Fenton, Missouri at the age of 43 years.
Jessie was a wonderful mother to her autistic son, James. She was a “hidden hero” who bravely faced autism and all the overwhelming challenges and huge responsibilities that accompany it. Jessie was a stay-at-home mom dedicated to this challenge trying to give her son the best life possible. Between therapist and doctor appointments for James there were simple things Jessie enjoyed for herself. For her, it was listening to alternative rock music and sitting down to her computer...quiet moments to unwind and enjoy the calmness.
Jessie if preceded in death by her parents Loyd Eugene and Sharon J. (Webster) Mahurin; one sister Lora Jean Collins.
Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her son James Lawrence Mendoza of Cuba; sister Karen and husband Bill Parkins of Cuba; Grandmother Betty Webster of St. James; brother-in-law James Collins of Kentucky; aunt, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
