Jeffrey Alan Stewart was born on February 11, 1960 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, Ramey Air Force Base. His parents, Charles (Chuck) and Marilyn West Stewart and brother John Avery welcomed him. He was small for his age, but that wasn't a problem. He had a big brother that took care of children in the neighborhood when they taunted him or threw his school books into the creek.
Jeffrey was a loner and a perfectionist. He had numerous pets and each was a dear friend, especially Connor. He developed artistic skills beyond his age. He went to art classes on Saturday and expanded his talent. That led to tool and machinery design. He took cello lessons and was proficient. The family returned to Cuba when he was in the eighth grade. Because of differing requirements between school systems, seventh grade sister Jennifer was in eighth grade history class with Jeffrey. Jeffrey went to Vo-Tech during high school which he enjoyed.
We were told with his talent he should go to UMR for engineering. He tried that for a semester and came home telling us he had enlisted in the Air Force. He was a ten-year Tech-Sargeant. As a boom operator in air-refueling he saw the world from 35,000 feet and was highly skilled in mathematical concepts. The re-fueling process is totally computerized now. A review of his personal belongings included letters and accolades for his excellence.
His next career was in the dry-cleaning business in Rolla. He married during those years and he and his wife had two boys. Now, Jacob and Andrew each have a son and daughter.
Jeffrey bought several Fed-Ex routes as they opened home delivery routes. He served north-central Missouri counties for five years.
Jeffrey retired and picked up two self-satisfying careers: landscape design and upholstery, or as he would interpret it: 'I like to make beautiful things from uglies'. He started by using his dad's workshop and volunteering the care of his church's grounds. He designed an Eden in his mother's back yard and cared for the rest of her properties. As God would lead him, he coped with several serious health problems.
He survived three strokes and several heart attacks. The third stroke paralyzed his left side which partially came back through intense physical therapy. He accepted the heart aneurysm and the last diagnosis of leukemia. Jeffrey did not complain. His Faith in God was strong. He trusted Him to take care of his life. His rewards were his sons and grand-children and seeing the world from the sky and the earth.
Jeffrey is survived by his mother, Marilyn West Stewart; two sons, Jacob and Andrew; four grandchildren: Tyler, Phoebe, Marcus and Aunna: his brother John Avery Stewart; sister-in-law Marjorie Farnsworth Stewart; nieces: Patience Stewart, Faith Stewart Worley Ben) grandnieces: Abigail and Adelaide Worley: grandnephews: Benjamin and John Worley: his sister, Jennifer Arlene Stewart, (Scot Harrison); nieces, Catherine Camille and Deborah Rose Harrison: aunts, Joyce Dorf Stewart, June Stewart Albrecht, Nancy Stewart Fisher, Connie West and Pamela Rogers West: uncles, Don Fisher, John W. Those who preceded him in death: Father, Charles (Chuck) Stewart; Grandparents, John & Catherine West; Horace Stewart & Elizabeth Stewart Ray; Uncles & Aunts; Carl W. West, William Stewart, Clifford Stewart, Jodi Stewart, Robert Stewart.
