James Ray "Jim" Gibbs, Jr. was born to the union of James Ray Gibbs and Hazel (Davis) Gibbs, Sr. on September 10, 1942 in Davisville, Missouri. He left from this life on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age for 76 years.
Jim was united in marriage to Judy Ann Dodd on February 25, 1967 in St. James, Missouri and to this union two daughters were born.
Jim, along with his wife Judy, owned and operated Jim & Judy's Cleaning Service for over 40 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cuba, National Rabbit Association and served his country for six years in the United States Army National Guard. He enjoyed farming, gardening, animals and coin collecting.
Jim was a loving son, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents; wife Judy Ann Gibbs, who passed away on July 18, 2019; one brother Ken Gibbs; one infant sister Mary Ruth Gibbs; one brother-in-law Harry Thomas.
Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving daughters Kimberly and husband Troy Foster of Charlestown, Indiana, Tiffany and husband Ben Bailey of Bonne Terre, Missouri; three grandchildren Sarah and husband Kyle Tilley of Carmel, Indiana, Zachariah Foster of Nabb, Indiana and Rachel Foster of Nabb, Indiana; sisters and brothers Frances Thomas of Springfield, Missouri, Vera and husband Carl Price of Springfield, Missouri, Jolene Gibbs of Steelville, Missouri, Paul and wife Yvonne Gibbs of St. Charles, Missouri, Rhonda Gayle and husband Carrol Deal of Springfield, Missouri; one brother-in-law Billy and wife Linda Dodd of Cuba, Missouri; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 2:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Moore, officiating.
Military honors and Interment will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the First Baptist Church of Cuba or the International Myeloma Foundation.
