James Edward 'Jim' Hartupee

James Edward Hartupee of Indian Hills Lake, Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Omer P. and Evelyn R. (Kalb) Hartupee on June 17, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri and left from this life on Thursday, September 1, 2011 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 74. Jim was an Iron Worker and later worked as a Truck Driver. After retirement he moved to Indian Hills Lake where he served on the Board of Directors and helped as a Security Guard. He was known as a story teller and he could give directions to anywhere. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and gardening. Jim is preceded in death by his father Omer Preston Hartupee; one step-daughter Patricia Diane Papenburg. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Joyce Hartupee of the home; mother Evelyn R. Hartupee of St. Charles, Missouri; four children Dawn and husband Terry Fick of St. Louis, Missouri, Tamara Estes of Wentzville, Missouri, Keith and wife Colleen Hartupee of St. Charles, Missouri, Kelly and husband Larry Stark of Winfield, Missouri; step-son Edward and wife Janet Patterson of St. Charles, Missouri; two brothers Thomas Gene Hartupee of Kansas City, Missouri and Ronald Lee Hartupee of St. Charles, Missouri; nine grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2011 2:00 p.m. until time of Funeral service 3:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Lathum, officiating. Cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society. The Mizell Funeral Home is Honored to be serving the Hartupee family.
