James Michael "Mike" Britton

James Michael “Mike” Britton of Cuba, Missouri passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the age of 61. He was born on November 9, 1962, in Cuba, Missouri to Jack E. and Anna M. (Wilson) Britton.

Mike was known for his warm heart and gentle spirit. As the youngest of his siblings, he cherished his relationship with his mother and brought joy to their lives as a devoted momma's boy.

In recent years, Mike faced health challenges and resided at Cuba Manor where he received dedicated care. Despite his disabilities, Mike found delight in simple pleasures such as scratch-off lottery tickets and browsing through magazines.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jack E. and Anna M. (Wilson) Britton; five siblings Betty Jane Herberger, Jackie Daughtery, Connie Jean Britton, Edward Austin Britton, and Gerald Eugene Britton.

Mike will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his surviving family members, including his brother Gary Britton of Cuba, sister Janet and her husband Gary Brakefield of Cuba, brothers-in-law Robert Herberger of Cuba and Ken Daughtery of Bourbon, aunt Edwina Britton of Cuba, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends who were touched by his gentle presence.

Visitation to pay respects to Mike will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service led by Pastor Don Martin will follow the visitation at the Mizell Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on the same day.

Following the service, Mike will be laid to rest at Skaggs Cemetery in Steelville, Missouri.
