Ivan W. "Bud" Monda

Ivan W. “Bud” Monda of Cuba, Missouri was born on October 20, 1929, in Crawford County, Missouri to the union of Walter and Nellie A. (Adair) Monda. He left from this life on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 93 years.

Bud honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from the State of Tennessee Preparatory School, after thirty years of dedicated service in the Maintenance Dept. He enjoyed woodworking, leather making, carpentry work, traveling, camping and was known as an amazing storyteller.

Bud is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Nellie A. (Adair) Monda; wife Elena (Moore) Monda; two brothers Buel Monda and Roger Monda; one sister Mary and husband Bob Hines; two brothers-in-law Jim Nelson and Vernon “Porky” White.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving daughter Linda Hughes of Cuba; three sisters Shirley and husband Charles Kelley of St. Louis, Carol Nelson of St. James, Sharon White of Cuba; one sister-in-law Mary Monda of Sullivan; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 5-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Bruno, officiating.

Honored to be serving as pallbearers will be Brian White, Keven White, Keith Kelley, Vern Hines, Bart Nelson and Trent Nelson.

Interment with full military honors will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the Cuba Animal Shelter.
