Irma J. Mcmillian

Irma J. McMillian of Cuba, Missouri was born October 9, 1926 in Crawford County to the union of Edward and Dahlia (Nee: Litton) George and left from this life on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at her home in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 88 years. Irma was united in marriage to Herman McMillian on February 1, 1941 in Steelville, Missouri. They were happily married for sixty five years and they were the proud parents of nine children; Clifford L., Joann, Karen, Kathy, Mack, Larry, Carol, Pam and Joel. Irma spent nearly sixty years farming with her husband, putting up hay and working the cattle. Irma worked at a saw mill for forty years and during that time when the weather was bad she would work at a factory. She owned and drove a school bus fourteen years, for the Missouri State School that Joel attended and she was part owner of Action Carpet in Cuba. Irma enjoyed hunting, sewing, quilting, gardening and garages sales. Irma attended the First Baptist Church of Leasburg during the later years of her life. What she truly loved most was her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends. Irma was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend of many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Irma is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Dahlia George, her husband Herman McMillian, three sons; Clifford, Mack and Joel, eight siblings; Freeman, Lytle, Nettie, Bill, Myrtle, Kate, Sebina and Evelyn and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy is her loving children; Joann and husband Dick Busse of St. Clair, Karen Childress of St. James, Kathy Hayes of Cuba, Larry McMillian of Cuba, Carol and husband Bruce Crutchfield of Cuba and Pam Richardson of Cuba, like a son Larry Pilkenton of Cuba, twenty three grandchildren, many great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri. Special music will be "I'll Fly Away" and "Amazing Grace". Interment and prayers will follow at the McMillian Family Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the McMillian family.
