Iris Darlene Shane

Iris Darlene Shane of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Clyde and Lucille (Schumer) Taylor on Sunday, December 21, 1947 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and left from this life on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri at the age of 65. Iris was united in marriage to James Shane on September 15, 1966 and together they shared 46 years of marriage. Iris was a forty plus year employee and current Manager of Roberts-Judson Lumber Company in Cuba, Missouri. She was the go to lady that everyone turned to when they needed something. In her spare time away from work she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Iris is preceded in death by her father Clyde Taylor; one sister Elaine Sexton; one step-brother Peter Sego. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her husband James "Jim" Shane of Cuba, Missouri; mother Lucille and husband Robert Sego of Cuba, Missouri; one sister Gail and husband Bob Engemann of Washington, Missouri; one brother Bradley Taylor of Cuba, Missouri; one step-sister Christina Sego of Sullivan, Missouri; two sisters-in-law Janice and husband Harold Hodges of Sparta, Missouri, Sharon Olson of State of Oregon; aunts, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013 5-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 15, 2013 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. James Finder as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society. The Mizell Funeral Home is Honored to be serving the Shane family.
