Howard W. Monda

Howard Wayne Monda of Cuba, Missouri was born Thursday, January 25, 1940 at Cuba, to the union of Willie 郢邀邜Gus郢邀邝 and Icealine (nee: Edgar) Monda and left from this life on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Cuba at the age of 69 years 8 months and 27 days. Howard was united in marriage to Doris Jean Geller on April 18, 1959 at Cuba, Missouri and to this union three sons were born Ron, David and Allen. Howard worked many years as a truck driver for Ottis Brother郢邀邙s and then for West Contracting. He was a member of the Local 840 Union Hall. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, mushroom hunting and just being outdoors. Howard was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, son-in-law, cousin and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Howard is preceded in death by his parents Gus and Icealine Monda, infant sister Alice, father-in-law Harvey Geller and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy is his wife Doris of the home, three sons Ron and wife Angel Monda, David Monda and Allen and wife Angela Monda all of Cuba, four grandchildren Kori and husband Matthew Zide of St. Louis, Megan Monda of St. Louis, Rachel Monda of Branson West and Tyler Monda of Cuba, one great granddaughter Juda Zide of St. Louis, two sisters JoAnn Monda of Naples, Florida and Nancy and husband Jeff Williams of Holt Summit, two brothers Gary and wife Betty Monda of Sullivan and Paul and wife Joy Monda of Jeff City, mother-in-law Marie Geller of Cuba, sister-in-law Linda and husband Bill Gunn of Cuba and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be Friday, October 23, 2009 from 5 till 8 PM at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral service will be 11 AM Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Interment will follow at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, MO.
