Hilmer L. Brewer

Hilmer L. Brewer of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of James M. and Aldora (Lockwood) Brewer on August 14, 1921 in St. Louis, Missouri and left from this life on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at his home at the age of 93. Hilmer was a retiree of the Painters Union in St. Louis. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He enjoyed farming, being outdoors, feeding the geese and sharing WWII stories. Hilmer is preceded in death by his parents; wife Bernice (Ash) Brewer; one sister Lucille Ray; two brothers Marion and Bill Brewer. Those who left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his four step-children David King of Cuba, Missouri, Daniel and wife Lisa King of Leasburg, Missouri, Phyllis "Lynn" and husband Bill Fitzgerald of Stanton, Missouri, Bryan King of Cuba, Missouri; two brothers-in-law George and wife Barbara Ash of Sullivan, Missouri, Gary and wife Judy Ash of Bourbon, Missouri; one sister-in-law Patsy and husband Bob Conaway of Steelville, Missouri; two nieces Joan Woodruff and Gale Stevens both of Leasburg, Missouri; three nephews Harold Ray of Potosi, Missouri, Bill Brewer of Cadet, Missouri and George Brewer of Chicago, Illinois. twelve step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 1-2 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 2:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Idleman, officiating. Interment with full military honors will at Crossroads Cemetery, Leasburg, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Brewer family.
