Herman Robert Wood of St. James, Missouri formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of John Arthur Wood, Jr. and Lillian Ann (Fellner) Wood on November 16, 1911 in St. Louis, Missouri. He left from this life on Wednesday July 4, 2007 in St. James, Missouri at the age of 95 years, 7 months and 19 days. Herman was a self-employed Painter and was a retiree of Painters Local #115. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He enjoyed playing golf, watching sports on TV and always enjoyed a good conversation and he was best known for his quick wit. Herman is preceded in death by his parents John Arthur Wood, Jr. and Lillian Ann (Fellner) Wood and one sister Jane Hurst. Those who are left to cherish his memory and to continue his legacy are his daughter Diane and husband Dr. James Panagotacos of Corte Madera, California; two grandsons Dr. John James Panagotacos of Los Angeles, California and Jason James Panagotacos of Corte Madera, California; one nephew Ronald Dean Hurst of San Diego, California. Graveside service will be held on Friday, July 6, 2007 1:00 p.m. at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Gary Mace, officiating followed by full military honors. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri is honored to be serving the Wood family.
