Herbert "Herbie" C. Korte of Cuba, Missouri was born January 11, 1933 at Florissant, Missouri to the union of Carl B. and Angelia Korte and left from this life on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 79 years. Herbie proudly served in the United States Army from March 9, 1953 till March 10, 1955 and was then transfer to the Army Reserve for six years. Herbie spent his life doing lawn maintenance and working auctions for the Donahoe's, Lorts' and Franky Todd. He took care of his mom until she passed away at the age of 101. He could always be found sitting at the counter of the Huddle House and letting "the girls" wait on him or sitting in his lounge chair at home watching everyone drive by. Herbie is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Angelia Korte and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his three step children Barbara and husband Mike Robinson of Cuba, Cynthia and husband Dale Martin of Webster Groves and David Clardy of Illinois, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, all the girls at the Huddle House and other friends. Visitation will be Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 5 till 7 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington, Cuba, Missouri. Keeping with Herbie's wishes interment will be private. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving Herbie's family.
