Helen V. Emert of Bourbon, Missouri was born Friday, March 30, 1923 at Florissant, Missouri to the union of John and Emma (nee: Gronemeier) Oth and left from this life on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 87 years 3 months and 30 days. In 1947 Helen was united in marriage to Edward Gotthardt and to this union one daughter Deborah was born. In 1974 Helen was united in marriage to Richard Emert in Bridgeton, Missouri. Helen lived a very full and active life. She worked at Emerson Electric in the 1940郢邀邙s and 50郢邀邙s, then a corporate warehouse, followed by a printing company located on Broadway in St. Louis before becoming a bartender. She tended bar in Florissant and St. Charles for many years before retiring in 1981 when they moved to Lesterville, Missouri. She returned to work after moving and worked for the Peola Valley Pottery for several years. After Richard passed away she moved to Bourbon in the late 1990郢邀邙s. In her spare time she enjoyed taking great care of her yard were she grew beautiful flowers. She always enjoyed reading but what she enjoyed most was when the entire family came to her house visit and barbeque. Helen was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Emma Oth, two husbands Edward Gotthardt and Richard Emert and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy is her loving daughter Debbie Bacon of Bourbon, Missouri, three grandchildren George and wife Tammy Bacon, Jr. of Leasburg, Missouri, Gerald and wife Jamie Bacon of Sullivan, Missouri and Kim and husband Stephen Bennick of Cuba, Missouri, ten great grandchildren Darian, Christopher, Michael, Katelynn, Skyler, Chloee, Cole, Bailee, Linkan and Reese, two brothers Robert and wife Harriet Oth of Warrenton, Missouri and Roy and wife Bobbie Oth of Fort Pierce, Florida, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. A private memorial service for Helen will be held at a later date. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Emert family.
