Helen Marie Ware-stevens

Helen Marie Ware-Stevens of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Phillip and Grace (Woodruff) Hopwood on July 13, 1920 in Argo, Missouri and left from this life on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 91. Helen retired from the Cuba Shoe Factory after 32 years of dedicated service. She was one of the founding members of Delhi Baptist Church and enjoyed playing and singing music there. Her other interest included gardening, canning, yard work, sewing, cooking and taking care of family and friends. Helen is preceded in death by her parents Phillip and Grace (Woodruff) Hopwood; first husband Virgil S. Ware; infant brother Raymond Hopwood. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her husband John Stevens of Cuba, Missouri; Sandra and husband Elbert Kitchen of Sullivan, Missouri, Vicki and husband Ron Licklider of Washington, Missouri; six grandchildren Keith Kitchen of Bend, Oregon, Burke Kitchen of Lawrence, Kansas, Jeff and wife Renee Shetley of Washington, Missouri, Tandle and husband Matt Gadberry of Sikeston, Missouri, Jodi and husband Mark Birkmann of Washington, Missouri, Kathy and husband Stephen Schock of Glendale, Missouri; nephews and nieces Eugene Schwidde of Florida, Charles Schwidde of North Carolina, Dorothy Nichols of Cuba, Missouri, Judy Quitshaw of O'Fallon, Missouri; fifteen great-grandchildren, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home and also on Saturday, March 3, 2012 10:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 11:30 a.m. at Delhi Baptist Church 3170 Hwy. UU Cuba, Missouri. Interment will follow at Delhi Cemetery. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to Delhi Baptist Church. The Mizell Funeral Home is Honored to be serving the Ware-Stevens family.
