Harold R. Lager

Harold "Hal" R. Lager of Cuba, Missouri was born Wednesday, February 8, 1922 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Conrad Lager and Mary (nee: Cordes) Lager and left from this life on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 85 years and 9 months. Hal was united in marriage to Alberta Bequette on June 30, 1945 at St. Louis, Missouri and to this union six sons were born; Richard, Ronald, Randolph, Terry, Gary and Gerald. Hal served in the United States Navy from 1943 until 1945 during WWII. After the Navy Hal worked as an engineer for over 30 years at the St. Louis terminal Railroad. He retired in 1984. In 1984 Hal and Alberta moved from St. Louis to Indian Hills. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Hal enjoyed playing golf, pitching horseshoes, fishing, playing poker and bowling. Hal was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother in law, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Hal is preceded in death by his parents Conrad and Mary Lager, his loving wife Alberta Lager, three sons Randolph, Gary & Gerald Lager and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to celebrate his life is his three sons; Richard, Ronald and Randolph Lager of Cuba, Missouri, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister in law Joan (nee: Bequette) Rushing of Afton, Missouri, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation Monday, November 12th from 5 til 8 PM at Britton Funeral Home, of Cuba. Funeral Mass 10 AM Tuesday, November 13th at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father James Finder as celebrant. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri with full military honors. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Lager family.
